Intro to Google Calendar Integration

Overview

Google Calendar integration allows you to connect your Google account with 5day.io and manage your meetings and project tasks from a single calendar view.

Once connected, your Google Calendar events are displayed inside My Calendar in 5day.io. At the same time, your assigned 5day.io tasks and subtasks sync to Google Calendar as events.

Each user connects their own Google account based on subscription availability. You can select one or more personal Google calendars to sync.

After setup, synchronization runs automatically and keeps both systems updated in near real time.

Why Integration Is Important

Google Calendar integration helps you manage meetings and project work together without switching between tools. Instead of checking Google Calendar for meetings and 5day.io for tasks separately, you can view both in one unified calendar.

You can plan deadlines alongside meetings, reschedule tasks visually, and avoid conflicts between project commitments and external events. This provides better visibility of your workload and improves overall schedule management.

Key Features of Google Calendar Integration

  • Two-Way Synchronization

The integration supports bi-directional syncing. Tasks updated in 5day.io reflect in Google Calendar, and changes made to Google Calendar events are displayed in 5day.io automatically.

  • Task-to-Calendar Event Sync

Assigned tasks and subtasks with valid start or due dates sync from 5day.io to Google Calendar as events. If no specific time is set, tasks appear as all-day events based on the user’s timezone.

Events from selected personal Google calendars appear inside 5day.io’s Calendar view. These events include details such as title, date, time, description and a direct link to edit in Google Calendar.

  • Multi-Calendar Support

Users can select multiple personal calendars from their Google account to sync.

  • Automatic and Near-Real-Time Updates

Creating, editing, rescheduling, or deleting supported events triggers automatic synchronization, typically within minutes.
